Individual Showcases - High School players - "Should I do them?"

4 Apr 2023 by Drew Peterson

We get this question a lot. “Should I participate in the individual Showcase?” In short, the answer is Yes!

The answer is yes, we highly encourage both our high school aged girls and boys to participate in individual showcases. Especially, if the showcase is on the front end of a tournament in which the Loons are competing in. Sure, families are capable of traveling around the country for an individual showcase, but we encourage our high school aged players to attend individual showcases where we already plan to travel to. Otherwise, you’re looking at booking additional hotels, flights, registrations, etc. in alternate locations.

WHY should our high school girls and boys consider participating in individual showcases?
Individual showcases and tournament play both have their place in the sport. An individual showcase is another recruitment opportunity that allows players to put their individual skills on display in front of a large amount of college coaches. You can separate yourself from your competition and impress college coaches. We, the Loons, focus on team success throughout the season and we prioritize that during competition. Tournament play gives college coaches the opportunity to see you play as a team player while wearing the Loons logo.
